Gluten-Free Sourdough Pancakes

I hope you saw the recent post for my Gluten-Free Sourdough Bread. Here is a link to it if you would like to check it out. As you get your sourdough starter going, a great use for the extra “discard” you have is these Gluten-Free Sourdough Pancakes.

who doesn’t love pancakes!? I know my kids and I enjoy any morning we can make the time to sit down and enjoy a treat like this together. 

Also, once you have a sourdough bread starter going it's a great additional use for it. Just one more opportunity to feed your starter, keep it lively, and have an awesome delectable meal as well. Ingredients:

½ C Sourdough Starter from All Purpose Gluten-Free Flour

½ C Oat Flour

½ C All Purpose Gluten-Free Flour

1 tsp Baking Powder

¼ tsp Salt

1 Egg

2 TB Maple Syrup or Honey

1 TB Oil or melted Butter

1 tsp Vanilla

¼ C + 3 TB Water (to desired consistency)

Directions:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together first. 

  2. Create a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients to it. 

  3. Stir to combine. 

  4. Cook in a lightly oiled pan over medium heat for a few minutes on each side. 

Just like regular pancakes you want them to be bubbly to know they are ready to flip.
